Welcome to KAKIWAI, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Miyajima, Hiroshima. This quaint café transcends the ordinary with its breathtaking views of the Seto Inland Sea and the surrounding lush greenery, making it a perfect retreat for anyone looking to relax and soak in the beauty of nature.

The moment you step inside KAKIWAI, you are immersed in an atmosphere that radiates tranquility. The large windows frame picturesque scenes, creating a space that feels like a serene postcard—a sentiment echoed by visitors like Han S, who describes sipping on a refreshing drink amidst the “tranquil sea and gentle waves.” This idyllic setting makes KAKIWAI not just a café but a sanctuary for the soul.

KAKIWAI's menu features a delightful selection of café offerings that includes their renowned Hiroshima Lemon Rare Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake, served as part of the enticing cake set for JP¥1,080. Imagine the smooth, creamy texture of the lemon cheesecake, perfectly balanced with a hint of zest, or the rich, luscious embrace of the chocolate cake that melts in your mouth. Pair them with a glass of wine, as suggested by satisfied customers like Angelica Zetina González, who praised the “superb quality” of the cake and wine package. Each bite and sip is as exceptional as the last, and the quality is a testament to the impeccable standards held by KAKIWAI.

Whether you're indulging in a solitary moment with your favorite book or catching up with a friend, KAKIWAI offers a cozy corner for everyone. Elna Tan describes it as “great for postcard writing and some ‘me time,’” emphasizing the contemplative environment this café fosters. You simply can’t rush through your visit; it’s a place to savor each moment, enjoy the scenery, and embrace the calmness that surrounds you.

Even if you find the food and drink to be average, as noted by Young-Joon Suh, the spellbinding views and exquisite ambiance more than compensate, establishing KAKIWAI as a must-visit destination when in Miyajima. PPheng T. echoes this sentiment, highlighting the café's creative essence that adds to its charm.

If you’re in the area, allow yourself to be enchanted by KAKIWAI—a café that not only offers delightful treats but also invites you to unwind and rejuvenate amidst stunning scenery. It’s not merely about what you consume; it’s about the experience of being fully present in a place that feels uniquely special.

This is really a hidden jewel. Amazing view from both sides with nice windows and lovely service. I had the cake + wine package, and as with most everything in Japan, superb quality.

Very serene, calm, creative cafe. It has a very je ne said quoi to it that I love so much! Ordered the white wine and deconstructed rare cheesecake. Excellent pairing to the place.
